The Alternative to Flame Start Systems

To start diesel engines safely and quickly, even in artic temperatures and at great altitudes, it is necessary to heat the intake air.

A further application for intake air heaters is the reduction of exhaust gases and noise during the start and warm-up stage.

In contrast to the flame start system, the heating flange consists of only one component. This greatly contributes to cost reduction of the complete system.
The “Heating Flange with Electronics” can be made for special customer requirements such as, e.g. adjustment to control signals. Infinite variable setting of output, wear-free parts, lower wiring costs, and integrated protective functions such as temperature monitoring are only some of the advantages of the heating flanges.

Heating flanges are also employed to reduce the exhaust values for running engines or when glow plugs cannot be used due to limited installation space.
